Defiant Bloom Colorado High Desert Photography Limited Edition of 50

The desert doesn't ask permission to be beautiful. Here, a prickly pear throws its whole self into bloom — orange and gold petals pressed tight against a bed of spines that could open your hand to the bone. Everything around it fades to gray: rock, brush, shadow. Only the flower and the lichen-stained stone hold their color, like the desert decided this one thing deserved to be seen. Printed in limited edition.
